DALLAS, Texas – July 1, 2013 – Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, recently donated relief funds to several families in need of assistance following the effects of natural or man-made disasters.
Associa Cares relies on volunteers from national and local committees to help identify people in both Associa and non-Associa managed communities affected by tragedies.
Below is a list of the Associa branches that helped families in need in their respective areas of the country. Many of these families were affected by house fires, severe storms and other disasters:
• Austin, Texas – A donation was made possible through Alliance Association Management when a fire originating with the HVAC unit severely damaged the homeowner’s apartment.
• Houston, Texas – A donation was made possible through Houston Community Management Services when a chemical plant explosion in LaPorte, Texas, left the homeowner severely burned.
• San Antonio, Texas – A donation was made possible through ProComm when severe storms destroyed the roof of the home, creating water damage. The family was displaced during the clean-up process. ProComm also informed Associa Cares of a second homeowner who lost everything but a jewelry box when a two-alarm fire broke out at the Medical Center condominium complex.
“As soon as we learned of these incidents, we immediately took action to help those affected,” said Associa Senior Vice President J. Matthew Steele. “We are thankful to Associa Cares for being able to provide the funds to help these local families during trying circumstances.”
