AUSTIN, Texas – June 28, 2012 – Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, recently donated $1,500 to a Texas family on behalf of Alliance Association Management.
Betty and Tucker Lee’s Round Rock home was struck by lightning during severe storms Saturday, May 5, 2012. The home caught fire and, while not a complete loss, was partially destroyed by collapsing. The couple was home at the time, but received no injuries from the tragedy. The money received from Associa Cares will go toward rebuilding the home.
“Losing a home can leave homeowners feeling distraught and helpless during this tragic time,” said Alliance President and CEO Rody Timmons. “Thanks to the fundraising efforts from Associa Cares and employees, the Lee family will find comfort much sooner.”
Associa Cares relies on volunteers from national and local committees to help identify people in both Associa and non-Associa managed communities affected by tragedies. Alliance first notified Associa about the couple.
