Associa Cares Donates to Victims of Bastrop Wildfires

Sep 15, 2011

AUSTIN, Texas – September 15, 2011 –   Associa Cares makes a difference in Central Texas through donations and financial assistance for the families, firefighters and homeowners affected by the Central Texas wildfires.

The efforts come on the heels of one of the busiest weeks for the Texas Forest Service.  In the past seven days, the Texas Forest Service has responded to 137 fires across Texas, the largest of which, in Bastrop County, destroyed more than 34,000 acres and more than 1,500 homes.   Seventy-five percent of the fire is currently contained, and Bastrop officials recently released a re-entry plan for homeowners.

Somerset Association Management, with properties in the Austin area, recently donated $1,500 worth of supplies to the citizens of Bastrop.  Donations included bottled water, clothing and other non-perishables.

“I am so proud to be associated with the people of Somerset who embody the heart of an industry revolving around homes and the caring of that spirit,” said Deb Elder, General Manager of Milago Condominiums, a Somerset property.  “We hope to perform another supply drop next week to ensure the care is ongoing and that the wildfire survivors are not forgotten.”

In addition to Somerset, Associa Cares is accepting applications for financial assistance from homeowners.  The Associa Cares disaster response program is designed to provide timely and prompt response to those in need.  If you have been directly affected by the wildfires, or know someone who has, email info@associacares.com or call 214-953-3009 to apply for assistance.  To make a donation or to find out how you can help, visit Associa Cares.
