DALLAS, Texas – May 23, 2013 – Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, earmarked $100,000 to assist families affected by the devastation from the recent tornados in the Midwest.
For example, on May 20, an EF-5 category tornado touched down in Moore, Oklahoma, located just 10 miles outside Oklahoma City. The storm devastated neighborhoods, destroyed homes, displaced families and brought a normally vibrant, close-nit and active community to a standstill.
“As soon as we learned of the affects from this storm, we immediately took action to help those in need,” said Joey Carona, president of Associa Cares. “We anticipate a large number of requests from employees, homeowners and neighbors throughout the area.”
The Associa Cares disaster response program is designed to provide timely and prompt response to individuals in need, regardless of whether they live in an Associa-managed community. Associa Cares is accepting applications for financial assistance from homeowners.
