Funds to Assist with Rebuilding Process

CARMEL, Ind. – February 21, 2011 – Community Association Services of Indiana, an Associa company, with the help of Associa Cares, recently donated funds to two local families who lost their homes in separate disasters.

  • Tanya and Steve Owens lost their home in a house fire when a space heater accidently set fire to the residence. Mrs. Owens and her son were severely injured in the blaze, while Mr. Owens suffered from smoke inhalation. All three are beginning a long road to recovery and are in great need of any help.
  • Derrick Campbell and his family lost their mobile home in an electrical fire. The Red Cross has relocated the family, but they lost all of the belongings and household items in the accident.

With the help of Associa Cares, both families can begin the healing and recovery process faster than originally anticipated.

“We are thrilled that Associa Cares has worked with us once again to help arrange for this assistance,” said Assistant Community Manager and Associa Cares representative Valerie Atwell. “These families were truly deserving of the help, and we are thankful for our partnership with the American Red Cross to help us identify families in need.”

The partnership helps refer fire clients to CASI for assistance through its Associa Cares program. As a result of their combined efforts, CASI’s Associa Cares program has assisted nearly 30 Indianapolis area families in recent months.
