STOCKTON, Calif – August 15, 2013 – Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, recently donated relief funds to two California families who are recovering after damaging house fires.
Associa Cares relies on volunteers from national and local committees to help identify people in both Associa and non-Associa managed communities affected by tragedies. Team members from Associa’s M & C Association Management Services, Inc. made the national nonprofit aware of these families’ losses.
In July, a house fire damaged a Redding home while the 93-year-old homeowner and his family slept. Luckily, the family escaped unharmed.
In the same month, a family of six lost everything as the Copperopolis home they rented was devastated by fire. The parents and four young sons lost all of their belongings and the family dog as well.
“Associa Cares was created to help families affected by tragedy, man-made or natural,” said M & C President and CEO Heather Kerwin. “While we don’t like to learn of instances like this, we are grateful to Associa Cares for appropriating these funds quickly to help our California homeowners in need.”
