STOCKTON, Calif. – March 28, 2012 – Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, recently donated $1,500 to a Stockton, California, family after a garage fire nearly destroyed their home February 1, 2012.
Beginning in the garage, the two-alarm blaze took more than 30 minutes for firefighters to control. As a result, owners Paul and Shawna Baker are displaced until the house can be repaired from massive damage.
“Thanks to fundraising from Associa Cares and Associa employees, we are able to help the Baker family,” said M & C Management Services, Inc. President and CEO Heather Kerwin. “Nearly losing a home is a tragic event, and I am glad they were able to get some assistance.”
Associa Cares relies on volunteers from national and local committees to help identify people in both Associa and non-Associa managed communities affected by tragedies. M & C Management Services, Inc. notified Associa about the family and their loss.
