RENO, Nev. – November 28, 2012 –Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, donated to two Nevada families on behalf of Associa Sierra North.
Two families were displaced when a house fire destroyed the homes of Michael and Rhonda Cain and Richard and Rebecca Parkin. The fire started in one home and jumped to the home next door.
“Losing a home and all belongings is a traumatic event,” said Associa Sierra North President and CEO Laura Price. “We want to help people in these kinds of situations as much as we can.”
The donation from Associa Cares will allow the family to replace items that were lost in the fire, from clothing and dishes to school supplies.
Associa Cares relies on volunteers from national and local committees to help identify people in both Associa and non-Associa managed communities affected by tragedies.
Associa Cares is a national nonprofit 501(c)3 organization created to assist families and communities in crisis as a result of natural and man-made disasters.
