DALLAS – Jan. 17, 2013 – Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, assisted nine individuals and families who were affected by natural and man-made disasters.
Associa Cares relies on volunteers from national and local committees to help identify people in both Associa and non-Associa managed communities affected by tragedies.
Below is a list of the Associa companies that helped families in need during December:
Associa Headquarters – Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Heyl family lost their home in a fire the day after Thanksgiving, including everything inside.
Houston Community Management Services – Baytown, Texas – Rafael Alatorre and his family lost their home and are currently working to rebuild it.
Lewis Management Resources – Tucson, Ariz. – A fire rendered the Delgado’s home unlivable. The family of five was displaced.
Colorado Association Services – High Park, Colo. – Tanya Jamieson lost her home and car in a fire.
Equity Management – Homeland, Calif. – The Lagman’s home burned to the ground in a fire that displaced the family of four.
MAMCO Property Management – Mantua, N.J. – The Hunt family’s apartment experienced smoke damage from a fire in the next unit. The blaze destroyed several personal belongs and displaced the family for several months.
Philadelphia, Pa. – The Fralinger String Band, comprised of 110 members, lost all of their equipment in a warehouse fire.
Community Management Corporation – Alexandria, Va. – The Olympus condominiums experienced a fire that rendered one unit uninhabitable and another unit sustained water damage.
HRW, Inc. – Raleigh, N.C. – A fire destroyed the downstairs of Becky and William Hall’s home.
“Disasters can be devastating,” said Associa Cares President Joey Carona. “But we are glad we can help these families, and hope we helped their lives resume normalcy.”
