PLANO, Texas – March 28, 2016 – Associa Cares, the non-profit family assistance organization of Associa, was invited to the North Texas Tollway Authority’s (NTTA) monthly board meeting in March to receive a check in the amount of $5,305. The money is to help support families in Garland and Rowlett affected by the deadly tornado on December 26.
“NTTA employees live in the communities around our roads and wanted to help their neighbors who had experienced devastation from the December storms.” said NTTA Director John Mahalik. “The fundraiser involved contributing $2 per day for the privilege of wearing jeans to work during the month of February. The staff really took the challenge to heart and went above and beyond for this most worthy cause.”
“Associa Cares distributed more than $150,000 in cash assistance to aid individuals affected by the December tornado, and this donation will go a long way in getting those families back on their feet,” said Associa Cares Coordinator Faith DeSmet.
