Associa Employees Raise More Than $21,000 for Associa Cares at Annual Summer Conference in Washington, D.C.

Silent Auction Pays off for Family-Focused Charity

DALLAS, Texas – September 8, 2011 Associa, the nation’s leading community association management firm, recently held a silent auction and raffle for Associa Cares in conjunction with its 2011 Summer Conference in Washington, D.C. In addition to raising more than $21,000 for its non-profit organization, awards were given out to thank the Associa companies and individuals who contributed to Associa Cares throughout the year.

Both Morris Property Management of Brentwood, Tenn., and Kramer-Triad Management Group of Ann Arbor, Mich., were honored for hosting the most company fundraisers in 2010. This was the second consecutive year that the two companies held the most events. Additionally, Morris Property Management and Benchmark Association Services of Las Vegas, Nev., had the highest percentage of employee contributions via payroll deduction.

Community Management Corporation and Select Community Services, both of Chantilly, Va., and Legum & Norman of Alexandria, Va., each garnered recognition for the most contributions raised throughout the last year. The three sister companies partner together each year to host a local vendor fair that annually raises more than $200,000 for Associa Cares.

“As the nation’s leader in community management, it goes without saying that Associa should be actively involved in the community,” said Associa Cares President Joey Carona. “Associa is fortunate to have many generous employees, vendors and other donors who continually donate to Associa Cares.”

Nearly 100 silent auction prizes were donated by vendors and employees, including professional sports tickets, an Apple iPad2, Apple iPods, travel packages, restaurant gift cards, jewelry, paintings and much more. In total, more than $16,000 was raised through the silent auction, while an additional $5,000 was raised through the three-day raffle.

“The money raised at the event was tremendous, and the next step will be indentifying families in need to whom Associa Cares can donate the funds,” added Carona.

Associa Cares is a national nonprofit 501(c)3 organization created to assist families and communities in crisis as a result of natural and man-made disasters. Through donations provided at fundraising events across the country, Associa Cares is able to provide necessary goods and services to the families affected by these types of tragedies.
