DALLAS, Texas – September 23, 2014 – Associa, the nation’s largest community association management firm, is undertaking one of its largest disaster relief efforts to the hurricane ravaged Los Cabos region of Mexico.
“We are dedicating not only dollars to displaced families, but also critical survival supplies along with teams of restoration experts on the ground already beginning the rebuilding process,” says Associa Executive Vice President & COO Joey Carona. “We are committed to upholding our reputation of unsurpassed service to the residents in our communities and beyond.”
The Associa Mexico office and 15 of its managed communities throughout the region suffered damage when Hurricane Odile came ashore on September 15. The company has already allocated more than $100,000 through its non-profit organization, Associa Cares, and this week vital supplies such as water, food, clothing and other necessities were delivered to families in need.
“Construction experts from Lincoln Hancock Restoration are en-route with more than 25 tons of materials that will be used to board up windows and doors, help dry out flooded areas, and clear out sand and debris in preparation for the rebuilding process,” says Associa Senior Vice President Chris Harrison. “I’ve been so impressed at how the entire Associa family has quickly come together to put our disaster relief plans into action.”
Both Carona and Harrison visited the area just four days after the storm to get a first-hand account of the devastation and help to better equip the relief effort teams with exactly what will be needed as the communities are rebuilt in the coming weeks and months.
