HONOLULU, Hawaii – July 9, 2012 – Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, recently donated $1,500 to a homeowner on behalf of Certified Hawaii.
Ronald Plumb’s home suffered extreme damage as a result of a water main break June 11, 2012.The living room was filled with water, mud and rocks, and the kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinet and carpet have extreme water damage. Heat from dehumidifiers and air blowers have caused part of the acoustical ceiling to fall off and the bedroom carpet to odorize. The money donated will go toward repairing Plumb’s home.
“The inconvenience of this damage is frustrating and leaves homeowners feeling helpless,” said Certified Hawaii President and CEO Jon McKenna. “Thanks to the fundraising efforts from Associa Cares and employees, Ronald will find comfort much sooner.”
Associa Cares relies on volunteers from national and local committees to help identify people in both Associa and non-Associa managed communities affected by tragedies. Certified Hawaii first notified Associa about Plumb.
