BELLINGHAM, Wash. – August 15, 2013 – Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, recently donated relief funds to four families recovering after a damaging fire destroyed their homes.
A Fermdale fire destroyed three mobile homes, leaving the families homeless. In Concrete, a fire destroyed an owner’s mobile home. Luckily the homeowner was away at the time, but the mobile home was left uninhabitable.
Team members from Associa’s EMB Management Services made the national nonprofit aware of these families’ loss. Associa Cares relies on volunteers from national and local committees to help identify people in both Associa and non-Associa managed communities affected by tragedies.
“Associa Cares was created to help families affected by tragedy, man-made or natural,” said EMB President and CEO Corey Recla. “While we don’t like to learn of instances like this, we are grateful to Associa Cares for appropriating these funds quickly to help our California homeowners in need.”
